Hero Factory XT4 review (Breakout wave 2)

Well this is somewhat bittersweet. It's my last villain review from the Summer 2012 Breakout wave 2 series from Hero Factory.  This XT4 character is curious and funny-looking, and I like him.

  1. I can't believe I doubted this character! After I watched your review, I really love this character.

  2. YES! Thank you for bringing back name/URL, Jang! Anyways, I agree with the first comment. I din't like him at first, but then after watching your review, he seems pretty cool (Nex is my fave Breakout Wave 2 Hero BTW) Keep on MOCing, Jang!

    1. LOL. He looked to me like someone ran over Meltdown's face and stuck it on another body.

    2. Ingredients:
      Meltdown face
      Cement truck
      Hunk of extra parts

Lay meltdown face under cement truck wheel. Start truck and run face over.
Combine face and hunk of extra parts, cook well and voila! XT-4

  3. Wow! I'm right outside a Toys-R-Us right now... I was going to see about getting a Lord Of The Rings set, but I'm hooked on XT4 now! Changed mind? Heck yes.

  4. I live in the UK and I've been waiting for these sets to come out for a while now, especially Stormer XL. I went to Argos the other day and my parents bought me Stormer, Stringer, Bulk, Nex, Voltix and XT4 to keep until my birthday (August). But because I had money to spare, I payed for Nex to have now. Btw, great review JANG, can't wait to have that new mini torso piece!

    1. Definitely a big advantage of this set: the parts selection, specifically the small torso. I predict that it will be used to attach parts to backs, or maybe on titans to attach shin or shoulder armor...? Anyway, this could also mean that we might get Matoran-sized figures in the future. That'd be cool. :)

  5. Only thing I don't like is those pipes on his chest. I'll probably only get him for the pieces.

  6. HF 2013 Update:

We've seen rumors for 2013 themes called Empire of Frost and Rampant Oceans on iMDB, Brickipedia and such places... it turns out that the iMDB info for upcoming Ninjago themes were correct, so we can only hope that the HF ones will be as well.

There was also a supposed list of villains to appear in Rampant Oceans; they are:
    -Flatray
    -Electro
    -Calamari
    -Crushclaw
    -Tidal Warrior

These villains will supposedly battle Furno, Rocka, Surge, Breez, and Stormer.

So... yeah. That's all we know for now.

    2. Well don't get your hopes up too much. There's no definitive proof, just a good likelyhood based on similar situations.

    3. Ya, I agree. I found that out on some website, not a usual "watever this site says is usually true(Wikipedia)" kind of site, but just on e of the google results on the bottom of the list, if you know wha i mean, Theres no real proof yet.

    4. To the contrary; I find that the majority of Wikipedia's "not-yet-released product" info is inaccurate, based entirely upon dunked. Here we see the weakness of allowing anybody to edit or create a page.

Also, @Len11, didn't know you hung around here. :P

    5. Er... woops. I failed to notice this before, but my autocorrect changed "rumors" into "dunked". Typical stupid thing.

@ CLoT: No, i meant like the stuff that is a "released product" is usually accurate. I know wht you mean and where you are getting it from, but some sites can be even less accurate, especially ones that aren't extremely popular and you don't really no the site. Therefore you don't know what is and what isn't accurate. Do you know what I mean?

    7. I know what you mean, yes. I guess I misunderstood you because you were referring to info on, as you said, released products, whereas the RO sets aren't out, let alone confirmed yet.

  7. I hope that they don't make the heroes in the design of underwater creatures, hopefully they'll just give the heroes underwater gear/equipment. Also, I hope that LEGO keep the Glatorian heads but redesigned so that they're not as brittle.

    1. Yeah. From the sounds of things on the potentially false list, the villains may actually be animal-based. I picture Calamari, as stupid as his name is, to be a bit squid-like, for example.

And yes, a Glat head redesign is badly needed. Both of my blue ones are cracked in three places. :/

    2. Ya, and make them so when you use the top of the head as the connector for the bionicle masks, they dont look so weird. Reply if you know what I mean

      Delete
    3. Well, then Furno is all set...

Ya, and when and/or if they redesign them, they should make them so when use the top of the head as the front to attach the bionicle masks, they dont look like the eyes are sad or something. reply if you know what i mean!

    1. Am I wrong in saying that that is so stupid that it is awesome?

    2. Let me explain...

"Xtra Tough with 4 arms" is such a stupid explanation for the name XT4... so stupid in fact, that it becomes awesome.

      Ya see? :P
